Layer Up… A Casual Look for the Cooler Months…
If you guys know me, you know I’m all about dressing in a romantic shabby chic (grandma chic?) style. And this has always been super easy for me in the summertime. Throw on a lace dress, some distressed boots, and a version of a sparkly belt and I feel like I’m representing all the country prairie princesses out there:)
But when the colder months hit, I get scared…. I’ve never been great at layering and usually end up feeling like an oompa loompa of lace. (And honestly, sometimes I still do. I’m embracing it.)
I recently met up with my friends from Farmhouse Frocks at the Country Living Fair and I asked them to help me put together a winter wardrobe. I explained how last year, 9 times out of 10, I just would give up and freeze my buns off in said lace dress with bare legs. They sweetly shook their heads and led me over to the many beautiful racks of all things lovely and frocky:)
YES! Finally, I am able to feel like myself in pieces that are beautiful and comfortable and WARM!!! I’m super excited for these colder months to snuggle up in sweaters, tunics and leggings! Cue the snow!!!
Here’s a look I put together with some help from sweet Fi from FF. It features their versatile Lizzie Tunic, a blush up-cycled cardigan and their up-cycled leggings. (How freaking adorbs are those little lace rosettes on the bottom of the leggings???!!! I’m obsessed.) Lastly, I threw on my tried and true Bedstu Granny Boots and I’m good to go.
I love this look . It has all the things I love about autumn in one outfit. And how I love a good grandma cardigan. And sitting/leaning on random stone walls… What?
Ahhhhh winter, you’re ok with me old girl….
I’ll link outfit details below… What are you guys excited about wearing this season??
